MAY 27, 2020 | 12:41 P.M. | PORT ST. LUCIE–St. Lucie County Dispatch received a call from an adult male suspect, 53, who said a woman was stabbed and, in the bedroom, at the 1100 block of S.W. Goodman Avenue, in the Palm Trails neighborhood.
When police officers arrived they found the suspect standing by the front door of the residence, unarmed and severely injured.
Police found a dead woman on the bedroom floor with multiple stab wounds. Officer found a teenager inside of the home, asleep and uninjured. The teen was transported to the Police Department for an interview.
Initial investigation revealed a dispute took place between the suspect and the victim over the suspect not being employed. This led to the stabbing of the woman, according to the police. The suspect had what appeared to be self-inflicted stab wounds to his neck and wrists, he told the officers he drank bleach, prior to calling 911. St Lucie County Fire/Rescue along with an officer; transported the suspect to a nearby hospital where he is currently being treated.
Port St. Lucie detectives are in the early stages of the investigation; therefore, no additional information will be released at this time, including the identity of the victim.
