COVID-19 cases spike on the Treasure Coast

MAY 18, 2020 | 11 A.M. | TREASURE COAST–The Florida Department of Health reported a sharp increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in Martin and St. Lucie counties than in previous days and weeks.

The tests are from those administered seven-to-10 days ago. The health department does not indicate whether the increase in positive cases is from more testing being done. The number of people tested in Martin County is 3,219 with 371 showing positive for COVID-19; 11.5 percent of those tested.

Similar results were reported for St. Lucie County.  Of the  6,639 people tested, 334 were reported as positive; 5.2 percent of those tested.
