Port St. Lucie woman in stable condition after being shot in the face

FEB. 10, 2020 | 10:20 A.M. | PORT ST. LUCIE–Police responded to reports of a shooting in the Floresta Gardens neighborhood.

Port St. Lucie Police released a statement today saying officers went to the 400 block of Southeast Thornhill Drive and found a woman had been shot by her boyfriend on Feb. 8 about 7 p.m. The woman had been shot in the face.

The woman told the officers she was trying to get her boyfriend some help before the shooting occurred.

During the search of the house, officers found the boyfriend’s body in another room. The police said the man appeared to have shot himself in the head and was dead.

The woman was airlifted to a nearby hospital. Police said she is in stable condition.
