Crash sends car into Port St. Lucie home

FEB. 5, 2020 | 12 P.M. | PORT ST. LUCIE–Police responded to a call in the 200 block of Southwest Tulip Boulevard after reports of a vehicle driven by a woman was struck by another vehicle sending her into a home.
The driver of the second car was heading northbound on Southwest Hiawatha Street when she ran a stop sign and crashed into the first car traveling westbound on Southwest Tulip Boulevard. The driver who was hit struck a fire hydrant and then smashed into a house.

The drivers and passenger involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. No arrest was made, however the driver that ran the stop sign was cited. The home was occupied by at least two people who were not injured.

St. Lucie County Fire District responded to assist with securing the home, Port St. Lucie Utilities also arrived to repair the damaged hydrant, and The Red Cross to provide services to the homeowners.
