Dorian’s Winds and Rain Expected to Reach Treasure Coast by Monday Afternoon

SEPT. 1, 2019 | 11  P.M. | TREASURE COAST–The National Hurricane Center says Hurricane   Dorian will arrive at the Treasure Coast Tuesday and Wednesday with sustained near-hurricane winds and heavy rain. In general, the track models have changed little from earlier today.

The NHC said that Dorian will be very near to the coast, but will stay offshore.   The eye of the storm is about 145 miles from the Treasure Coast. The hurricane winds extend out 45 miles and will have an effect.

Because of the amount of rain forecasted, the storm surge will reach flood levels in Martin and St. Lucie counties, especially in low lying areas.

If you are planning to evacuate or move to higher ground, Monday afternoon it the latest before heavy rains begin.
