Dorian still anchored over the Bahamas

SEPT. 3, 2019 | 5:04 A.M. | TREASURE COAST–The National Hurricane Center places the Treasure Coast outside the cone for a likely landfall by Hurricane Dorian.   The Category 3 hurricane is still sitting on top of the Bahamas with very little movement expected until later today. It’s predicted it will then begin traveling west-northwest, away from the Treasure Coast.

Although the official forecast does not show Dorian making landfall along the Treasure Coast, residents are reminded not to use the exact forecast track. A relatively small deviation to the left of this track could bring the core of the hurricane near or over the coastline.

There has been sporadic rain throughout the region and the winds are now a sustained 35 mph. with gusts close to 60 mph out of the north.
