SEPT 2, 2019 | 6 A.M. | TREASURE COAST–The National Hurricane Centers says that Hurricane Dorian is barely moving over eastern Grand Bahama Island, with a negligible westward motion of 1 mph.
Still a Category 5, the hurricane is showing signs of weakening as it creeps closer to the Treasure Coast.
The projection is Dorian will not make landfall on the coast, but will spin major hurricane winds and rain beginning late Monday afternoon or early Tuesday over the entire Treasure Coast.
Currently, winds at Hutchinson Island is a steady 27 mph; the same at the Fort Pierce Inlet.
In Port St. Lucie at Port St. Lucie Blvd. and Veterans Parkway the winds are at a steady 21 mph.
