Projection is Dorian will pass 47-55 miles off Treasure Coast

AUG. 31, 2019 | 10:52 A.M. | TREASURE COAST–The National Hurricane Center now predicts that Hurricane Dorian will stay in the Atlantic as it passes the Treasure Coast.
The latest forecast places the Category 4 hurricane between 47-55 miles off the coast as it slowly turns northward toward the Carolinas.
The Treasure Coast is still in danger for prolonged rain and winds of between 60-80 mph.
The NHC said the Europea model does not show Dorian’s turn northward as soon as the NHC’s model. But all agree there is a gradual turn northward.
