AUG. 21, 2019 | 10 A.M. | PORT ST. LUCIE –A suspicious ammo can forced the evacuation of Indian River State College in Port St. Lucie.
Police said a janitor found the can on top of a water fountain on the second floor of the STEM building at around 8:25 a.m.
Police evacuated the building as a precaution.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad arrived, and an investigation is ongoing.
UPDATE: The bomb squad determined the ammo can was filled with instructional material belonging to a teacher.
Port St. Lucie Police, St. Lucie County Sheriff and the FBI were at the college.
